HOUSTON — This week, the American Energy Alliance released its 2024 American Energy Scorecard for the Senate and the House of Representatives. Senator Ted Cruz was one of only two senators to receive a score of 90%, classifying him as an ‘Energy Champion’.
To little surprise, Rep. Colin Allred received one of the lowest scores — an abysmal 25%. As Colin Allred continues to flip-flop on his energy record, below is a reminder of just a fraction of his record, which is why he received the embarrassingly low score he did.
COLIN ALLRED’S ANTI-ENERGY RECORD:
- Allred Sided With Biden in a House Vote to Reverse the White House’s Ban on LNG Exports
- Allred voted against the Lower Energy Costs Act of 2023
- Allred voted yes on Kathy Castor’s HR 9, the Climate Action Now Act, which tried to prevent President Trump from withdrawing from the Paris Agreement and require him to submit a plan to Congress to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26 to 28 percent by 2025
- Allred voted NAY on H.
R. – Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act of 2024, which aimed to repeal restrictions on the export and import of natural gas7176 - Allred voted NAY on H.
R. – Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023, which aimed to lower energy costs by increasing American energy production and exports, among other stipulations2811 - Allred voted against the Restoring American Energy Dominance Act

January 27, 2021– Four Texas Democrats wrote to Joe Biden asking him to overturn his federal ban on fracking. Notably missing: Congressman Colin Allred
- Banning fracking on federal lands in Texas would put 120,000 local jobs at risk and risk $65 million in revenue to the state, but Colin couldn’t care less.
- Allred has voted twice against an effort to prohibit Presidents from unilaterally banning fracking and industry, which created 1.7 million jobs, increased wages, and benefited local economies. Such a ban could increase energy costs for the Average American family by 14%.
“Texas is the energy capital of the United States, and protecting the energy industry is a top priority for Texas voters. The industry is the reason Texas is an economic powerhouse, and it provides countless jobs for Texans.
“The score Allred received from the American Energy Alliance continues to prove that Allred’s campaign can try to brand him as a moderate all they want, but the reality is he’s aligned with the radical Left wing of the Democratic party who want to kill oil and gas production and Texas’s top economic standing along with it.” —Cruz Campaign spokesperson
