HOUSTON, TX— Today, CLEAT, the largest police union in Texas, endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz for re-election.
With more than 26,000+ members across the state, CLEAT is the largest police officers union in Texas and the largest provider of legal services for Texas law enforcement officers, and the state’s largest alliance of local police officers’ associations.
Marvin Ryals, CLEAT President, said, “At a time when officers face increased hostility from anti law enforcement hate groups attempting to defund and destroy policing, political persecution from the highest levels of government and continual false legal charges from local DA’s, we need a fighter like Senator Cruz to stand up for us in the United States Senate. As the largest police union in Texas, we strongly endorse and support Senator Cruz.”
About the endorsement, Senator Ted Cruz said:
“I am incredibly proud to receive the endorsement of CLEAT. For over a decade, I have fought for the rights and the dignity of police officers across the Lone Star State. With an increase in hostility and violence towards our police officers, it is essential that we stand up for the men and women who put their lives on the line each and every day to protect ours. I will continue to proudly represent all law enforcement officers in the United States Senate.”
