Beto O’Rourke Opposed Funding for “Iron Dome” missile defense that saved Israeli lives from Iran attackPress Releases|5.10.18
HOUSTON, Texas – Overnight, our ally Israel was attacked by Iran in an act of war. The missile defense system known as “Iron Dome” was utilized by the Israeli defense to block the attack which saved countless lives.
Texans should know that the Democrat candidate for U.S. Senate, Rep. Beto O’Rourke, voted against vital funding for this missile defense system. Sen. Ted Cruz has a consistent record supporting U.S. funding to help Israel defend itself from relentless attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran and other enemies in the region.
“Beto O’Rourke was only one of only eight Members of Congress to vote against crucial funding for Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, joining the ranks of Nation of Islam supporter Rep. Keith Ellison and liberal Rep. Zoe Lofgren,” said spokesperson Catherine Frazier. “As we saw last night, an ‘Iron Dome’ is a vital tool to defend Israel from terrorist attacks. O’Rourke’s continued support for Pres. Obama’s failed Iran deal, as well as his opposition to supporting Israel’s military defense is counter to the views held by Texas voters.”
