Ted Cruz Endorsed by Leading Pro-Life Groups
The NRLC says, “Ted… has been a relentless fighter for the unborn and our God given right to life.”
AUSTIN — Ted Cruz, Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Texas, announced today the endorsements of two leading pro-life groups, the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) and the Texas Alliance for Life (TAL).
In recent days, Cruz has been endorsed by the NRA-Political Victory Fund, Gun Owners of America, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the US Chamber of Commerce, the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT), the Texas Association of Realtors (TAR), the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) of Texas, and dozens of Texas small business leaders.
“Ted Cruz has been a relentless fighter for the unborn and our God given right to life,” said Darla St. Martin, Co-Executive Director of the National Right to Life Committee. “The NRLC is proud to endorse Ted, and will stand firmly beside him in his efforts to protect life in the U.S. Senate. We encourage Texas voters to support him on Election Day.”
“Ted Cruz has a proven record of fighting for the right to life in Texas,” said Dr. Joe Pojman, Executive Director of Texas Alliance for Life. “He has authored briefs advocating for parental notification and defending the federal partial-birth abortion ban, as well as litigating in federal court to prevent state dollars from going to those who would fund abortions.”
“I want to thank the NRLC and TAL for their support and I share their passion for promoting a culture of life across Texas and across the country,” Cruz said. “Both in Washington and back home in Texas, both of these groups are on the front lines in the battle to save lives and repeal government healthcare mandates, and I will stand with them.”
Under the leadership of Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Cruz served as Texas Solicitor General where both fought to protect innocent human life. Ted played a leading role in several important cases, including defense of the partial-birth abortion ban, parental consent laws, and prohibiting state funds from going to abortion. These cases have all been part of the ongoing effort to ensure that every child in America receives the protection and respect he or she deserves.
In addition, Cruz has been endorsed by Cathie Adams, Ernest Angelo, David Barton, George P. Bush, Hispanic Republicans of Texas, Kelly Shackelford, George Strake, Peggy Venable, Texas Alliance for Life PAC, Young Conservatives of Texas, Concerned Women PAC, Family Research Council Action, Club for Growth PAC, FreedomWorks PAC, Gov. Sarah Palin, Sean Hannity, and many others.
Cruz and his wife Heidi live in Houston with their four-year-old daughter, Caroline, and one-year-old daughter, Catherine.
