C Club of Houston Endorses Cruz for Senate
AUSTIN—The Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate campaign announced today that it received the endorsement of C Club, one of the premier groups in Texas promoting fiscal conservatism, endorsed the campaign today. The influential Houston-based organization requires the vote of over 75 percent of its members to endorse a candidate.
The C Club endorsement comes following Sarah Palin’s endorsement last week and huge momentum for the Cruz campaign at the start of early voting.
Founded in 1964, the C Club represents over 100 fiscally-conservative business and professional leaders in Houston. The Houston-based non-partisan group’s endorsement is generally considered a strong sign of support among conservatives in Harris County.
“We’re honored to receive this important endorsement as an indication of the hunger for a strong conservative to stand and fight the Obama agenda,” said Cruz spokesman James Bernsen. “Houston is ground zero in this primary battle and momentum is certainly in our favor at the start of early voting.”
To date, the Cruz campaign has received donations from over 19,000 individuals, from over 843 Texas cities, 225 Texas counties, and all 50 States. The average donation is under $200.
Among Cruz’s endorsements are: Sarah Palin, the Tea Party Express, Senator Rand Paul, James Dobson, Cathie Adams, George P. Bush, Gun Owners of America, Family Research Council Action PAC, Texas Home School Coalition PAC, Kelly Shackelford, David Barton, Peggy Venable, Young Conservatives of Texas, over 200 Texas Republican women leaders, and more.
