I’m writing to introduce myself and make a personal appeal for my husband Ted’s campaign for U.S. Senate.

When I met Ted eleven years ago, I was impressed by many things, but one outstanding quality was that he knew the founding principles of this country and the Constitution better than anyone I had ever met. Not only that, he could articulate and defend them at the highest levels of both our judicial branch of government as well as in policy circles. And he had a passion for making a difference.

The reason I think this campaign matters so much is because our country is at a tipping point both politically and financially—we’re on the brink. And it is our generation that must lead – we must lead to return our nation to fiscal soundness, we must lead to keep a vibrant economy for our children, we must lead to maintain our leadership position abroad and continue to be the country that fights for freedom.

It’s been very exciting to see the support Ted is receiving from around Texas and from around the country. Midnight tonight is a critical deadline: the end of the first reporting period.

On a personal note, our family is doing great so far during this campaign. Ted is working harder now than I’ve ever seen anybody work in my life. He is steady and unflappable on the campaign trail — focused completely on winning. And at home, he’s a loving father to our two adorable baby girls, Caroline and Catherine. He is never too busy to be kind, generous, and thoughtful.

Champion for limiting the size of federal government, Lee says

AUSTIN, Texas—U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, announced Monday that he is endorsing former Texas Solicitor General Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate in Texas:

“I am proud to enthusiastically endorse Ted Cruz for the U.S. Senate. The 2010 election showed that voters are looking for strong, principled conservatives in the Senate. Money and the establishment aren’t what they used to be; principle and message—real conviction and a proven record—matter much more.

“Ted is one of our nation’s leading defenders of the Tenth Amendment. He is a champion for limiting the power, size, and spending of the federal government. Ted and I share much in common. We’re both proven conservatives who clerked for strong conservative Justices on the U.S. Supreme Court, and we both believe passionately in limited government and the U.S. Constitution.

“We’re in an epic fight—to stop President Obama’s agenda, to reverse the out-of-control spending in Washington, and to restore the constitutional limitations on our federal government. We need Ted Cruz in the Senate to help lead this fight and to help us win.”

Ted Cruz served for five-and-a-half years as Texas Solicitor General. He has argued nine times before the U.S. Supreme Court—the most of any lawyer in Texas. Ted was the youngest Solicitor General in the nation, the longest serving in Texas, and first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas.

Sen. Mike Lee was elected in 2010 as Utah’s 16th Senator. He has spent his career defending the basic liberties of Americans and Utahns as a tireless advocate for our founding constitutional principles.

It’s an honor to announce that our campaign has just received the endorsement of conservative stalwart U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah. Sen. Lee is one of the brightest new warriors for liberty elected last November as part of the Great Conservative Awakening.
