Sarah Palin Backs Ted Cruz for Texas U.S. Senate Race

“Ted Cruz has received a high-profile endorsement in his race for the U.S. Senate in Texas Thursday. Former Alaskan Governor and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin endorsed Cruz on Thursday for his bid to be the Republican nominee in November to replace retiring Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison. The endorsement was confirmed by Campaign manager John Drogin by email to Yahoo News that the endorsement “has added HUGE buzz to our campaign.”

Ted Cruz lands endorsement of Sarah and Todd Palin

Dallas Morning news says Cruz is in the Tea Party model.

According to the Cruz campaign, Palin responded to a letter from Cruz that sought her endorsement. She responded: “We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next Senator from the Lone Star State.”

Palin endorses Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate

Palin wrote. “Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack. Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”

Cruz called Palin “an inspiration to conservatives” and says he’s honored to have her support.

Sarah Palin, Ron Paul back Ted Cruz in Texas

…Things in the Lone Star State were ramped up a bit yesterday thanks to a pair of endorsements for Cruz from Sarah Palin and Ron Paul. Palin’s endorsment, given her standing in the conservative movement, is obviously more high profile.
